So I decided I would upload something a little different today (excited to do more skiing this year!). My dad and I took a skiing trip in January 2010 at Brighton Ski Resort in Utah. Here is one of the videos I took. Hope you like it! I used my tripod as a stabilizer along with the Zoom H4n with a Redhead Windscreen. Set to open this weekend, Thomas Kunc, above, and his staff at the Canyon Ski Resort east of Red Deer have been working hard to produce a base layer of snow on the ski runs over the past week. With overnight temperatures below freezing Kunc, who is the outdoor operations manager at the resort and his snow-making staff have turned the hill into winter. For this weekend Canyon hopes to open the blue T-bar and handle tow which service the Sundeck run and the terrain park. Even with the forecast above freezing temperatures during the day for the rest of this week Kunc says the evening low temperatures will make for some ideal snow-making conditions. The aim of the present article is to introduce skiing conditions in Borovets in general, give some tips for readers who are seeking the perfect ski vacation and last but not least give you a hint on the criteria which a ski resort needs to possess. Yet, there are mandatory requirements which a ski holiday needs to meet and all we are interested in them in order to customise the winter vacation in a better way. Depending on the type of traveller, their budget, experience and acquired knowledge of a resort, there are a number of criteria which define the skiing holiday in a different one.
Borovets skiing resort cannot be described as an Alpine ski resort. However, there one can experience the thrills and spills of having a great holiday and visiting an ultimate Bulgaria’s ski resort.
Borovets is the oldest skiing resort in Bulgaria, but new development has been implemented so far, especially as a part of the Super Borovets project. Borovets is a fantastic winter venue for the young and of course young at heart. We can’t miss to mention that it is suitable for family ski holiday as excellent ski tuition is provided. Borovets unlike Bansko winter resort boasts quiet atmosphere, enough space for entertainment and holidaying and plenty of amusing activities apart from skiing. The major advantage of Borovets is that it is not overcrowded and noisy, so it is a great place for having a relaxing winter vacation.
It is important to note that the statement ‘you get what you have paid for’ is not quite true when it comes to having a holiday in Borovets, because certainly there are a number of factors which may add this ‘extra value’ that you may be looking for. Nobody should neglect the fact that the level of satisfaction does rely on one’s predilections, requirements, expectations and fortunate or less fortunate circumstances.
Indeed Borovets skiing resort is low on glitz, but it is rather high on great skiing and the number of skiers who keep coming year after year do prove that Borovets is an attractive ski destination.
Well it may be true that the very center of the skiing universe in Bulgaria could be in
Bansko or perhaps Pamporovo, the sunniest winter resort, but skihounds and snowboarders who love adrenalin adventures will look for slopes a little more on the quiet side, so they will find more than they imagined at Borovets winter resort. A skiing vacation may be rather exhilarating, especially if ski slopes are not overcrowded and you do not waste time queuing for the ski lift!
We do agree that Borovets may not be on a par with Piedmont in Italy or other
major European ski resorts, the Borovets ski area is still a prime candidate for a cheap and enjoyable skiing vacation. Besides currently there are many Hot Deals which offer an extended skiing holiday /there are more popular as ‘pay less, stay more’/. As many tourists have discovered, Borovets may not offer the best skiing vacation that they have ever experienced, but still rewarding skiing adventures and many happy moments. Well if the glitz is a part of your criteria for a decent ski vacation, then the area of Borovets may not be the best holiday choice for you. However, there you will find no lift lines, well-groomed ski tracks, new facilities, modern snow cannons, trendy pubs, various entertainment options, cozy accommodation and excellent ski tuition, and if these vital elements are more important to you, then by all means you should give Borovets skiing resort a chance!
